This month we would like to introduce you to someone who has a more “behind the scenes” role. You may not meet her when you are at the lodge, and you may not even see her in action. But you would certainly notice her absence. Meet Naomi, our head of housekeeping, who makes sure that the lodge is always a clean and comfortable place where you can feel completely at home. Your fresh linens and spotless bathrooms are all expertly managed by her and her team. Here is a chance to learn more about her.

Where are you from and what is special about the place that you grew up?
Masvingo, the home of the famous Masvingo ruins.

What are you passionate about?
Working and improving myself, especially my skills. And spending time with my family.

What was the best compliment you’ve received?
When my husband told me I was a good mother.

Which animals do you see the most around the lodge?
Elephants, baboons, monkeys, zebra, giraffe, and impalas.

Which one is your favourite? Why?
The elephant because it is the biggest and most beautiful.

What are some of your favourite things?
Watching action movies and socializing with friends.

Your favourite food?
Sadza
(maize meal) and beef.

Your favourite flower?
Elephant Ear Flower.

Your favourite place?
Victoria Falls.

What memory do you hope that guests take with them from Elephant’s Eye?
