Mana Pools Safari Lodge
Spending time at Mana Pools Safari Lodge gives one a true understanding of Africa – untamed, remote and abundant with wildlife. The life-giving power of the Zambezi River makes Mana Pools National Park one of Zimbabwe’s most biodiverse with a variety of magnificent species calling this area home. Designed to blend into the surrounding landscape, our Mana Pools safari camp is one with the environment, effortlessly combining a comfortable stay with exhilarating natural encounters on your doorstep.
Best time to visit Mana Pools
The dry season, between July and October, are the optimum time for game viewing in Mana Pools National Park. This is when countless species congregate around the available water sources, making a safari possible from the comfort of your Mana Pools safari lodge. The days are warm (28 degrees Celcius) while evenings and early mornings are on the cool side. Between November and March it gets hot to extremely hot. It is also then when the highest rainfall of the year is recorded and guests are advised to check as roads can become impassable, forcing the closer of the lodge.
Mana Pools Safari Lodge nestles close to the Mana Pools National Park’s eastern boundary. The thatched chalets of the safari camp enjoy uninterrupted views of the sweeping floodplains of Mana Pools, making game viewing possible from the comfort of your room. Elephants and sometimes even lions meandering through camp are part and parcel of life on the wildside. Mana Pools is also famous for its elephants standing on their hind legs, stretching up to reach the delicacies of the Albida trees, especially in the dry season. A swimming pool awaits after a day of exploring Mana Pools on a guided game drive or walking safari. The best is saved for last with dinner under a canopy of stars and after-dinner drinks around the campfire.
