Steve Bolnick

Guide at Camp Mana and Nantwich Lodge

Steve Bolnick is an exceptional safari guide, renowned for his deep love and knowledge of the African bush. Having spent the past 40 years living and guiding in Southern Africa, he is recognised as one of the best in the region. Steve’s expertise extends beyond guiding, as he has trained aspiring guides in South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe as a qualified guide trainer and assessor.

Steve led the first commercial dugout safaris that crossed the entire Okavango Delta in Botswana. His passion lies in walking safaris in big game country like Mana Pools National Park, where Camp Mana is situated.  He is one of the only guides licensed to operate professionally in South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.

His contributions to wildlife conservation efforts have been invaluable and he has been involved in research safaris for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). At one point he also held a chemical capture license in Victoria Falls where he was actively involved in the darting and treatment of wild animals wounded by poachers’ snares.

Steve has hosted discerning guests from around the world including royalty, diplomats and other internationally renowned figures. You can also book a privately hosted Zimbabwe safari with Steve when staying at Camp Mana. This needs to be done in advance.
