Big Cave Camp can accommodate up to 21 guests in six twin chalets, one family chalet and one honeymoon suite. Each unit offers stunning views from private decks over the surrounding landscape and across the valley into the Matobo National Park. All have en-suite amenities. A huge rock and trees growing through the roof feature prominently in the enclosed bar and dining room area, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere. The library has a fireplace and offers a quiet space to retreat.

Big Cave Camp holds magic like few other Zimbabwe lodges in the Matobo Hills. Our Matopos accommodation borders the Matobo National Park, a mere 46km from Bulawayo. A transfer of less than one hour will take you from the hustle and bustle of the city to the inviting wilderness at Big Cave.

For the best wildlife experience, opt to book your stay at our Big Cave Camp for the dry season, between June and October. Not only are the days mild and pleasant, but the bush has also thinned out, making animal spotting easier. The summer months from October to March tend to be hot and have the highest rainfall of the year. The spectacular green scenery during this time makes for prime birdwatching while the abundant wildflowers attract a myriad of insects.
