Walking through this untamed landscape, you’ll discover the finer details of the bush, from its captivating scents to the intricacies of the macro world, evoking a timeless connection with nature. On foot, the once towering giants of the herbivore world, such as giraffes and elephants, become graceful companions as you share eye-level encounters with buffalo. Tracking the previous night’s lion footprints turns the tables on the Luangwa’s predators, making them your pursuit. Your Experience

At Chikoko Tree Camp, your day begins with the gentle embrace of a Zambian sunrise, accompanied by the backdrop of early morning hippo bellows and the melodious symphony of birdsong. A friendly knock on your door signals the start of your adventure. A relaxed breakfast unfolds around the campfire, offering the perfect start to your day. You can participate in a 4-hour walking safari to take in the wonders of the wilderness at a leisurely pace. A pause for morning tea provides an opportunity to absorb the surroundings. The midday sun invites you to a delicious buffet lunch, graced with freshly harvested greens from the camp's garden. As the day's heat peaks, it's siesta time at the camp. Here, you can unwind in the company of nature, perhaps reviewing your lists of the remarkable flora and fauna encountered, or simply indulging in a good read from one of the inviting hammocks.

In the late afternoon, a 2.5 to 3-hour walking safari takes you deeper into the landscape, returning before the sun dips below the horizon. Sundown is a time to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and snacks around the campfire, sharing stories of your day's explorations. Dinner is a culmination of your Chikoko Tree Camp experience, a three-course meal illuminated by candlelight and accompanied by the sounds of the African night. Under the protection of cotton sheets and mosquito nets, you drift into slumber while the lullabies of the Luangwa serenade you with the distant roars of lions.
