Mwaleshi Walking Camp offers an unforgettable escape just a short 40-minute flight from Mfuwe Airport. Tucked away in a picturesque meander of the Mwaleshi River, 10 kilometers upstream from where it joins the Luangwa River, this camp is an oasis of natural beauty and wildlife wonder. Here, you’ll discover a thriving ecosystem, home to an array of remarkable creatures, including majestic lions, elegant kudu, elusive Cookson’s wildebeest, stately elephants, endangered wild dogs, and the rare rhinoceros. As the night falls, rest comfortably in your canvas safari tent, adorned with crisp cotton sheets and protected by mosquito nets. The soothing sounds of the Luangwa River will serenade you to sleep, punctuated by the distant roars of lions and the haunting calls of hyenas.

Your day at Mwaleshi Camp is a symphony of wilderness experiences, starting with a breathtaking sunrise over the Mwaleshi River. As you venture out into the crisp morning air, a relaxed breakfast around the campfire awaits. The crackling flames provide the backdrop for your meal, creating a cozy and communal atmosphere.

The morning's highlight is a leisurely 4-hour walking safari, a journey of discovery through the untouched wilderness. Along the way, you'll stop for a refreshing morning tea break, a moment to savor the sights and sounds of the natural world. By midday, you'll find yourself back at camp for a sumptuous buffet lunch, featuring freshly grown greens from the Tafika garden. This nourishing meal replenishes your energy for the adventures that lie ahead. As the sun climbs higher in the sky, it's time for a siesta, a chance to unwind and reflect in camp. You can leisurely review your lists of flora and fauna sightings or escape into a good book while swaying in one of the inviting hammocks.

In the late afternoon, the anticipation builds as you gather for afternoon tea, indulging in tea and coffee accompanied by delectable freshly baked cakes. Then, it's time for your next adventure – a 2.5 to 3-hour evening walking safari that returns just before sunset. As the day's end approaches, you'll relish in the tranquility of sundowners. Sip on pre-dinner drinks and savor delicious snacks while watching the sun gracefully disappear over the Mwaleshi River, painting the sky in vivid colors. Dinner is a grand affair, set by candlelight, featuring a delightful three-course meal that tantalizes your taste buds with local and international flavors.
