It’s been over thirty years since Garth Jenman began his safari with Camp Wild Safaris in Zimbabwe. Driven by a love for wildlife and adventure, Garth initially led camping expeditions, which earned him a reputation as an innovator in the tourism industry. This deep affection for Southern Africa, its people, and its wildlife culminated in the birth of Hideaways Africa.
Our company has a mission – to create life-changing safari experiences for eco-conscious travelers who want to enjoy and appreciate the untouched beauty and remote locations of Africa. Garth started the Hideaways story in 2012 when the first eco-lodge in the collection was built entirely by hand.
Garth was at the forefront of forging close collaborations with local communities to bring his dream to life. Since then, the Hideaways portfolio of lodges and camps has expanded to locations hidden away in some of the wildest regions of Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia and South Africa.

Before being the driving force behind Hideaways, she honed her skills in marketing and sales. Sulet’s true passion lies in Africa’s wilderness areas and she’s travelled extensively across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
This love for exploration extends to fostering talent within her team, as she is deeply committed to developing the people around her. Sulet’s leadership is further defined by a strong focus on conservation, ensuring Hideaways offers exceptional experiences while preserving the beauty of the African landscape.
Nicole is the dedicated Sales Manager at Hideaways. She has been an integral part of our journey from the beginning, embodying a commitment to excellence in customer service. With a belief in the power of teamwork, Nicole fosters a culture of collaboration and mutual support.

Heila, the Operations Administrator at Hideaways, has been an invaluable member of the team since 2019. With an innate ability to source everything necessary to keep the operation running smoothly, Heila is the behind-the-scenes force that sets the pace – always on the move, ensuring everything is in perfect order.
A lover of the bush, she finds solace and inspiration in the natural world, which fuels her relentless energy and efficiency. Despite her busy schedule, Heila often surprises those around her with her witty and unexpected comedic side.
Julize brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the wilderness to her role as a Reservations Consultant at Hideaways. With her roots firmly planted in the bush, having grown up on a farm and spending her family holidays exploring the Kruger National Park, Julize’s love for travel and the great outdoors shines through in everything she does.
Her extensive experience in wild environments, combined with her inherently positive nature, ensures that she is exceptionally well-equipped to look after our guests’ needs, crafting unforgettable experiences that resonate with the heart of adventure.

Kyle is our dedicated Maintenance Manager ensures that all our equipment and vehicles are in top shape, even in the harshest conditions. With travels through Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe, his passion for exploring different African locations fuels his dedication. Kyle’s interest in working on vehicles in challenging environments brought him to the travel and tourism industry, where he combines his skills and enthusiasm to keep everything running smoothly.
