We’re thrilled to announce that Hideaways Mhara River Camp has officially joined the Hideaways family! Tucked away in the remote, untouched wilderness of Mana Pools National Park, our newest camp offers an exclusive safari experience like no other.
A Wilderness Like No Other
Imagine waking up to the sounds of nature, surrounded by the beauty of mopane woodlands, dry riverbeds, gorges, and baobabs. At Hideaways Mhara River Camp, you’ll experience true wilderness, far from the crowds and the hustle and bustle of daily life. Here, nature comes to you, creating an intimate and serene atmosphere.
Derek Hinde, Director of Mhara, perfectly captures the essence of our newest camp: “It is the wilderness. Many people talk about wilderness in brochures and those kinds of things, and most of the time they are not what we believe a wilderness is. A wilderness is just a few people, the animals that live there, no masses of roads or vehicles. It’s pristine. And that’s exactly what Mhara River is.”
About the Camp
Hideaways Mhara River Camp is designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, providing a comfortable retreat for travelers. The camp features spacious tents, each with an en-suite bathroom and private veranda, offering stunning views of the landscape.
The camp’s communal areas include a cozy lounge, a dining area where you can enjoy delicious meals prepared by our talented chefs, and a viewing deck – the perfect spot to relax during the day.
Mhara River Camp is relaxed and welcoming, with a focus on personalized service and creating unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re sharing stories around the campfire, or going on an exciting game drive, you’ll feel right at home.
