Hwange Night Drives

Going on a night drive in Hwange National Park can be an incredible experience, as it provides the opportunity to see nocturnal animals that are not typically visible during the day. Some of the animals you may encounter on a Hwange night drive include lions, leopards, hyenas, genets, civets, and a variety of other nocturnal species. If you’re planning to go on a night drive in Hwange National Park, be sure to dress warmly and bring a flashlight. The night can be quite chilly, especially during the winter months, and a flashlight can be helpful in illuminating the animals you encounter.

It’s important to note that night drives in Hwange National Park are only permitted with a licensed guide and in designated areas. The guides are trained to navigate the park in the dark, ensuring that the safety of both the visitors and the wildlife is maintained. The guides will also provide insight into the behaviors and habits of the animals you encounter, enhancing your overall experience.

Nantwich Concession

Nantwich Lodge is situated in the Nantwich Concession, which is a private wildlife reserve located in the southeastern part of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. It covers an area of approximately 25,000 hectares and is managed by a private company called Imvelo Safari Lodges. The concession is named after the Nantwich Pan, a large waterhole that attracts a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, hyenas, and many species of birds.

The Nantwich Concession is known for its remote and untouched wilderness, providing a unique safari experience for visitors and holds a permit to provide night drives in Hwange. The concession is only accessible by 4×4 vehicles, and visitors can enjoy guided game drives, bush walks, and bird watching. The concession is also home to several safari lodges, including the Nantwich Lodge, which offers comfortable accommodations and an authentic African safari experience.

The Nantwich Concession is located in a prime wildlife area and is part of a larger ecosystem that includes Hwange National Park and other private reserves. The concession is managed in a sustainable manner to protect and conserve the environment and wildlife, while also supporting local communities through employment and conservation efforts.

It’s important to follow the guidelines provided by the park authorities and your guide to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience. Respect the wildlife and their habitat, keep a safe distance from the animals, and refrain from making loud noises or shining bright lights in their eyes.
