Hwange game drives are offered at both Hideaways safari lodges namely Nantwich Lodge and Bumbusi Wilderness Camp. Guests are escorted through the Hwange National Park in an open game drive vehicle that safely transports them to all the wildlife hotspots. Our guides are experts in their field and will share their niche knowledge with you while also tailoring your journey to what you are most interested in. We invite you not to just be a passive observer – get involved, ask questions and plan your day ahead with your guide. Game drives are either half-day (in the morning or afternoon), full-day, or in the evening for nocturnal game viewing.

Hwange game drive routes

There are several game drive routes that are popular in Hwange National Park. These specific routes you take will depend on a variety of factors including the time of year, weather conditions, and the wildlife sightings you are hoping to view. Here are a few examples of popular game drive routes in Hwange National Park:

Main Camp Loop: This route takes you through the central part of the park and is a great option for visitors who are short of time. This area is known for its large lion population, as well as giraffes, kudu, and other antelope species.

Sinamatella Loop: This is a longer route that takes you through the northern part of the park, which is less visited than other areas. This area is known for its stunning scenery, including rocky hills and scenic vistas, as well as wildlife such as elephants, lions, and hyenas.

Robins Camp Loop: This route takes you through the western part of the park, which is known for its varied landscapes and diverse wildlife. This area is a good spot to see leopards, as well as elephants, buffalos, and various antelope species.

Croc Pools: This scenic and wildlife-rich area in Hwange National Park is named after a series of pools that form part of the Deteema Springs, which are fed by underground water sources. Predators such as crocodiles and hippos can also be spotted in the pools.
